1982 Custom gaff rigged modern classic

GWENDOLYN is a very pretty ferro-cement gaff rigged cutter with timeless classic lines based on a Paul Johnson design and adds a refreshing splash of colour to any anchorage.

She is 37 feet on deck and 51 feet overall with the fully retractable bowsprit, she has a 12 foot beam and draws just 6 feet.

The forward cabin has a huge double berth, plus there is a pilot berth aft and three further convertible berths in the saloon. A shower and composting head completes the bright and colourful accomodation. With ample storage down below and good headroom, 6′ 4″ throughout.

Her decks are wide and flush with little clutter yet there is plenty of deck stowage for two sailing dinghies.

She has a reliable Perkins 4.107 diesel with just 300 hours since a rebuild and huge tankage, carrying 450 litres of water and 120 litres of diesel.

The systems have been kept simple and sturdy for ease of maintenance.

She is fitted with windvane self steering, solar power, plenty of ground tackle, a liferaft, two sailing tenders, LED lighting, a paraffin stove with 2 burner hob, and the minimum of electronics for safety;  a depth sounder, VHF radio, AIS, a windows based plotter and an EPIRB.

Gwen was laid down in Millbrook, Cornwall, UK by a well regarded professional team, and has been owned for the last 5 years by a talented shipwright who has substantially improved her.

She crossed the Atlantic in January 2018 crewed by a couple without incident, a testament to her build strength and ease of handing.

Lying in Antigua, eligible for Antigua Classics, and listed for sale for just US$ 19,995 for a quick sale as work has intervened to interrupt the sailing plans.
