1983 Oyster 43 cruiser racer

The Oyster 43 was designed by Stephen Jones in the early 1980’s as a performance cruiser racer with sleek lines, and continued to have considerable success on the regatta circuits, winning a number of RORC and SORC offshore races.

This example  # 43 – 06 was built in 1983 at Landamores in the UK where Oyster still build their current range of luxurious cruising yachts.

With two double cabins and a single head with shower, plus three sea berths and a convertible saloon, there is accommodation for nine in total along with ample storage.

Repowered in 2012 with a Volvo 40hp diesel, now with just 700 hours, and with new standing rigging in 2016.

Fitted for long distance cruising with solar panels, Spectra watermaker, Monitor wind vane steering plus a Cetrek autopilot, Raymarine instruments, Garmin plotter, SSB, and a good dinghy with a 9.8hp outboard.

With an extensive sail wardrobe and a good selection of ground tackle.

Currently lying in Antigua having just completed a lengthy circumnavigation.

A fabulous long distance performance cruiser with an excellent pedigree, ready to go round the world again.
