Farr Millennium 65

The Farr 65 is a fast strong and very capable pedigree Ocean Racer, and an  excellent prospect for conversion to a luxurious performance cruising yacht for a fraction of the cost of a new vessel.

Five of these beauties were commissioned for the Millennium Round the World Yacht Race,  four of which completed the race without incident which is a testimony to their build quality and ease of handling, while the remaining yacht was retained by Brice Farr and converted into a fast cruiser for his own use. These yachts have proven to be outstanding performance yachts praised by both skippers and crew alike.

The design parameters for these yachts were based on the legendary Ocean W60, somewhat de-tuned to be more sea-kindly and easier to handle by less skilled crew, but designed to be faster on all points of sale than the earlier Challenge yachts.

Since completing the Millennium race this yacht has continued in regular use as a successful Ocean Racer, coded to MCA Category Zero,  for unlimited commercial charter.

Sleeping 12 guests plus 3 crew with a very practical galley and two heads.  Fitted with a diesel generator, high output watermaker and generous tankage, this yacht is ideal for extended offshore sailing fully crewed.

The hull is built from solid GRP with Kevlar reinforcement and is fitted with the original aluminium three spreader rig and twin helms, all of which which handled conditions in the southern oceans with ease.

Farr Design went on to build a number of fast cruising yachts based on the success of this hull design for discerning customers and this vessel is an excellent prospect for economical conversion to a fast and luxurious performance cruising yacht at a fraction of the cost of a similar new build from a quality yacht builder.

PRICED TO SELL AT $299,000.
